Crohn's and Colitis
Megan S.

At the young age of 23, I was woken up to the fact of how unhealthy my day to day habits were when I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease.

I lived the normal post college life of eating and drinking excessively cheap food and beer. Life was great except I would have ridiculous stomach pains almost every day.

I finally saw a doctor and was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Doctors wanted to put me on steroids and a variety of drugs coming to the conclusion they didn't work.

After being hospitalized for three days due to a bowel obstruction, I learned the doctors could only help so much.

I took matters into my own hands. I learned cleaning products bought at the store has direct correlation to the digestive tract, what I put in my body effects every aspect of my day, and I am the only one who can decide what I need.

I removed all my cleaning products and switched to Shaklee's, cut gluten out completely, and started nourishing my body with healthy food, and supplementing with pharmaceutical grade supplements. Shaklee has helped me gain control back of life.

Endometriosis

In 2016, I was rushed to the E.R. with severe lower abdominal pain. I was referred to a OB specialist. I was then diagnosed with stage IV Endometriosis.

I had 2 surgeries in 8 months consisting of removal of large ovarian cysts and scar tissue all over my reproductive organs. After a year of being bed ridden from the pain and the second surgery, my doctor strongly urged me to self educate on what may help. I eliminated gluten, sugar, caffeine, dairy, and alcohol as well as added Shaklee supplements.

I am very cautious on what goes into my body, knowing most things can trigger a flare up. The combination of eliminating inflammatory foods and making sure my body continues to receive the nutrients and vitamins it needs, I have been able to go back to work and have a somewhat normal life again.

Cancer
Renee V.

In 2007 I lost my home in the 2007 San Diego wildfires. With the stress of managing a family, rebuilding a house, and finding creative ways to rebuild since we were severely underinsured, stress was an understatement. I neglected to make sure I was taking care of myself and was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer. Doctors wanted to immediately treat me with chemo and radiation but something inside me told me to wait.

I knew if I didn't start taking care of myself, I wouldn't be here to help anyone else. I changed my lifestyle and diet, and took specific supplements to build my immunity back up.

I have experienced first hand how the right nutrients and vitamins can literally heal the body. I am so thankful we caught it early, I listened to my body, and I chose to not do chemo and radiation. Who knows what long term effects I would be dealing with if I had.
